GORIZIA. A story that began in 1948. But that reality has developed over the years, growing and reaping many successes. Innovative approach, advanced engineering and a strong aptitude for problem-solving have characterized the family business which has just celebrated an important birthday: its 75th anniversary.
“Goriziane” overhauls, designs and transforms advanced engineering systems, aiming to bring innovation to a broad spectrum of sectors always keeping in minds Customers’ needs.
The company’s history started in 1948, when the ‘Consorzio officine meccaniche goriziane‘ was founded and acquired a few years later by Antonio and Maria Zanin. The couple, originally from Padua, chose Gorizia because it was located on the eastern border where most Allied and Italian troops and military vehicles were concentrated. “The company – “Goriziane” explains – has been involved in the repair, maintenance and modernization of tracked and wheeled vehicles of the Italian army since the very beginning”.
Over time, the company grew and moved from Gorizia to the nearby town of Villesse. Here are the main figures of this consolidated reality: a total extension of 150 thousand square meters and a factory of 30 thousand meters, where 145 people are currently employed. The second generation, formed by Carla, Pierluigi and Massimo Zanin, has now been joined at the helm of the company by the third generation: Antonio Chiello and Filippo Maria Zanin.
In addition to the military sector, the last 30 years have seen the development of “Goriziane Engineering & Construction”, which has in-depth knowledge in the design and construction of pipeline handling equipment both onshore and offshore. The offshore division is a reliable partner in the supply of high-quality pipeline equipment and plants, special equipment for wind farms, innovative automated manufacturing concepts, and integrated handling systems for industrial plants. A Naval division is also active, which develops highly integrated engineering systems according to international standards.
Last but not least, the new business unit of Goriziane is Green-G Electric Vehicles, focused on how real environmental sustainability can be applied to the development of medium-sized electric commercial vehicles. Ecarry – the only fully electric commercial vehicle with a revolutionary concept thanks to its advanced lowered cabin – is designed for urban waste management, city logistics and last-mile deliveries.
Already a year ago, we reported on ECarry’s conquest of Australia. Green-G worked closely together with Nextport, a company founded in 2018 that acts as an integrator of technological systems and infrastructure providers to bring together simple turnkey solutions for companies and governments. It is thanks to this strict cooperation that two chassis were shipped to Australia, and were then set up as last-mile delivery vehicles. This was the beginning of a strategic partnership that confirmed how the Gorizia-based company is now recognized as leader in the industry of fully customizable 100% electric commercial vehicles.
